CCC Diagnostics

CCC Diagnostics, Inc. (“CCC Diagnostics”) is a molecular diagnostic company, whose mission is to help physicians design the most effective, personalized chemotherapy regimens for cancer patients.

CCC Diagnostics has developed and is currently offering the DirectHit® Test Panel for Breast Cancer which predicts, with a high degree of accuracy, the breast cancer tumor’s resistance and sensitivity to four commonly prescribed classes of drugs.

CCC Diagnostics owns and operates a CLIA compliant testing laboratory to perform its diagnostic tests.

History

CCC Diagnostics was formed in 2004 by a core group of former Johns Hopkins University researchers with accomplished backgrounds in biophysics, oncology and imaging.

Our founder, the late Paul O.P. Ts’o, Ph.D., (1929-2009), was a full professor at Johns Hopkins University from 1967 to 2002 and Director of Biophysics Division of JHU School of Public Health for eighteen years. He held the position of Senior Associate at Johns Hopkins from 2002-2009. Dr. Ts’o was instrumental in founding Genta, a cancer therapeutics company. He was one of 1000 scientists from all fields whose publications were most cited during the period 1965-1978 and was a member of the Board of Scientific Counselors (Basic Sciences) for Intramural Programs, National Cancer Institute, 2006-2009

Ongoing development

Currently, CCC Diagnostics is working on adding three other classes of drugs to our breast cancer test, and we are working on additional tests for patients with lung, colon, gastric, esophageal and pancreatic cancers. These cancers, including breast cancer, are responsible for 56% of the annual cancer deaths in the United States.
